This presentation will examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping behavioral health practice, highlighting both its potential benefits and its limitations. Participants will explore appropriate and inappropriate uses of AI across clinical, administrative, and educational settings, including documentation support, patient communication, decision support, and assessment tools. The session will review key ethical, legal, and professional considerations such as privacy, confidentiality, informed consent, bias, transparency, competence, and clinician accountability when using AI-supported tools.
Objective:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
  • Identify appropriate and inappropriate uses of AI in mental health practice.
  • Apply ethical, legal, and professional standards to AI-supported clinical work.
  • Evaluate and responsibly integrate AI tools into clinical workflows.
Intended Audience:
Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Psychologists, Licensed Professional Counselors.

Registration will close 24 hours before the lecture. You will receive a link for the Grand Rounds by email before the Grand Rounds. All participants are requested to complete a post lecture survey. Non-psychologists must complete a post attendance survey in order to receive an attendance certificate. There is no registration fee.

Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
