Description:

*Registration will close on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 9:00am*

This six-hour virtual training provides an interactive, modern approach to the Prevention Code of Ethical Conduct. Designed in alignment with current federal executive orders and language standards, the workshop incorporates values-based reflection, real-world scenarios, and highly engaging discussion formats.

Participants will explore the first three ethical principles, then learn a structured four-step decision-making model that guides ethical reasoning across various situations. During the second session, learners will apply the model as they engage with the remaining principles, complex scenarios, and collaborative problem-solving.

Delivered through a virtual format that honors adult-learning best practices, the training includes live polling, breakout discussions, case-based learning, and structured reflection. The two-part design ensures space for processing, dialogue, and skill building.

Objective:

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the six core principles of the Prevention Code of Ethical Conduct.
  • Distinguish between personal values and professional ethics and recognize areas where the two may intersect or conflict.
  • Apply a four-step ethical decision-making model (Assess, Plan, Implement, Evaluate) to prevention-related dilemmas.
  • Identify boundary considerations, confidentiality responsibilities, and community-level ethical obligations.
  • Demonstrate ethical reasoning through scenario analysis, discussion, and collaborative problem solving.

Intended Audience:

Behavioral Health Service Providers
