This technical and technical assistance training builds
on the foundation of Medical Partiality: Part One by expanding the focus to
national perspectives, innovative practices, and prevention strategies that
reduce the impact of provider assumptions in healthcare. Substance use and
related health challenges do not occur in isolation, yet the way services are
delivered can influence whether individuals receive timely care or encounter
obstacles to support. Across the country, prevention professionals and healthcare
systems are working together to address these challenges by embedding
prevention into clinical practice, integrating peer and community health
workers, and developing training models that improve equitable care.
Participants
will learn how these approaches improve trust, increase early identification of
risk, and strengthen prevention-first responses across healthcare and community
settings. Emphasis will be placed on actionable tools and collaborative
strategies that prevention professionals can use to promote fairness in care
delivery and build stronger partnerships with medical providers.
