Description:
Xylazine, an animal tranquilizer that has been
added to the opioid drug supply, is affecting clients and providers in novel
ways. Understanding how the substance
works in one’s system, the challenges of associated wounds, and its resistance
to naloxone are realities that providers must understand to tailor their
practice and interventions. This event
will support a deepening of recognition of the function and impact of this new
substance and its impact on the field of Behavioral Health. Registration will close 24 hours before the
lecture.
