Objective:

Upon completion of this training, attendees will be able to:

1)     Apply a biopsychosocial model to understand risk for targeted violence and discuss new behavioral health approaches for preventing violence.

2)     Discuss current research into causes of terrorism and the relationship between terrorism and mental illness

3)     Describe aspects of DC’s “competency crisis” and innovative approaches to addressing this, specifically in the context of outpatient competency restoration program administered through mental health treatment courts.

4)     Discuss relative merits of virtual vs in-person ‘competency to stand trial’ evaluations.
