Description:

The Division of Licensure (DOL) oversees approximately 120 Community Residence Facilities (CRF).  The goal of the training is to ensure that individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness receive 24 hour supervision, personal assistance, and meals by competent, qualified and well-trained staff.

Objective:

 

1.       Clarify regulations that govern the operation of the MHCRFs

2.       Describe admission and discharge protocols, record required for clients and staff

3.       Explain how to effectively support the consumers residing in their MHCRF, medication requirements, positive environment

4.       Identify who is responsible for the various phases of consumer support, CRF staff, support workers, treatment team

5.       Placement inappropriate MHCRFs, Care Coordination and Transitioning

Driving Directions:
64 New York Avenue is located at the intersection of Florida, New York and First Streets, NE. Metro: Take the red line to the Noma/Gallaudet University (previously called New York Avenue) metro stop. Walk west on N Street and turn right at 1st Street NE. Cross over New York Avenue. You will see a large clock tower with the number 64. Enter through the gate and walk toward the entrance in the middle of the building, which is the second building entrance.
Parking:
There are three parking lots for attendees that charge between $7-10, regardless of duration. They only accept cash payment. There is also street parking in the blocks adjacent to 64 NY Avenue, but be mindful of posted restrictions.
