Description:

This course is only open to supervisors and other management-level provider staff.

This workshop on person-centered treatment planning is targeted toward clinicians who provide services and develop recovery plans in a variety of settings, including one-to-one approaches and multi-disciplinary teams in community based organizations, especially individuals in a supervisory role who can act as change agents in reinforcing the value of a person-centered approach within their organization. This workshop will be relevant for clinicians who provide outpatient services, either mental health, or addictions, or co-occurring services, to adults, adolescents and children.

Objective:

1.       Differentiate between Person-Centered Treatment and traditional approaches

2.       Describe how to use the person-centered process as a means for empowering individuals in behavioral health recovery and whole-person wellness

3.       Describe concrete, practical strategies that exemplify person-centeredness in the process of collaborative recovery planning meetings.

4.       Develop a logic model for the documentation of comprehensive Recovery Plans (i.e., goals, objectives, strengths and assessed needs, and interventions).

5.       Write a person-centered interpretive summary

Driving Directions:
64 New York Avenue is located at the intersection of Florida, New York and First Streets, NE. Metro: Take the red line to the Noma/Gallaudet University (previously called New York Avenue) metro stop. Walk west on N Street and turn right at 1st Street NE. Cross over New York Avenue. You will see a large clock tower with the number 64. Enter through the gate and walk toward the first entrance of the building.
Parking:
There is a small parking lot with very limited available spaces. However, there is street parking in the blocks adjacent to 64 NY Avenue, but be mindful of posted restrictions.
