This event is only open to employees of existing certified CBI Provider Agencies.

This training will focus on addressing the needs of youth and families with complex needs and challenges through CBI II and III services.  A learning community format will be utilized to re-enforce model fidelity and practice concepts. The training will emphasize the benefit of cross-agency information and idea sharing.  Applied case examples will be used to highlight the benefits of the consultation process and use of CBI team support.  The training will revisit the techniques and interventions learned in the “Practice Toolkit Training” and discuss how they can be used to work with complex families and dynamics.  This training will present on CBI II and III strategies, techniques, and interventions.  The focus of the training will be on sharing practical tools that can be used in working with SED youth and their families in the home and community.  Participants will be asked to bring a practice tool to share, with directions on how to implement the intervention and under what conditions. Applied case examples will be used to highlight each of the practice tools presented.

Objective:

1.       Utilize case consultation process to develop weekly intervention plans for youth with complex issues.

2.       Effectively deal with complex safety issues and concerns including the utilization of crisis debriefing with their supervisor in a timely manner.

3.       Explain how to use supervisory and team supports to manage youth and families with complex issues.

4.       Describe the need for ongoing case consultation for youth and families with complex needs.

5.       Identify typical CBI II and III ethical and legal issues encountered in the field.

Driving Directions:
64 New York Avenue is located at the intersection of Florida, New York and First Streets, NE. Metro: Take the red line to the Noma/Gallaudet University (previously called New York Avenue) metro stop. Walk west on N Street and turn right at 1st Street NE. Cross over New York Avenue. You will see a large clock tower with the number 64. Enter through the gate and walk toward the first entrance of the building.
Parking:
There is a small parking lot with very limited available spaces. However, there is street parking in the blocks adjacent to 64 NY Avenue, but be mindful of posted restrictions.
