Description:
This course presents an overview of Clinical Supervision, defining the purpose, best practices and the role of the supervisor. Skills of Administrative Supervision, Educational Supervision and Supportive Supervision will be presented, discussed and practiced in small group activities. Individual and Group Supervision will be discussed, presenting benefits and challenges of each modality.  Examples of supervision contracts and documentation forms will be reviewed and discussed.
Objective:
  1. Define the purpose of Clinical Supervision.
  2. Define the role of supervisor.
  3. Identify and practice skills of performance evaluation and giving feedback.
  4. Analyze personal style in supervision.
  5. Describe purpose of supervision contracts and documentation forms.
  6. Recognize the role of agency policies and practices in successful implementation of a supervision model.

Driving Directions:
64 New York Avenue is located at the intersection of Florida, New York and First Streets, NE. Metro: Take the red line to the Noma/Gallaudet University (previously called New York Avenue) metro stop. Walk west on N Street and turn right at 1st Street NE. Cross over New York Avenue. You will see a large clock tower with the number 64. Enter through the gate and walk toward the first entrance of the building.
Parking:
There is a small parking lot with very limited available spaces. However, there is street parking in the blocks adjacent to 64 NY Avenue, but be mindful of posted restrictions.
